Keeping Up With...Family (Disney - Part 4)

If you haven't been reading along, you can see how the trip started by check out Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.  After a break from Disney with a day the Universal Parks, we went back to Disney on Thursday and spent the day at Hollywood Studios.

The day started with our only character meal for the trip, and I thought it was kind of a flop.  We went to Hollywood and Vine to eat with the Disney Jr characters (Jake, Sophia, Doc McStuffins & Handy Manny).  The food and service were great!!  But the boys were not into meeting the characters or doing any of the singing and dancing that they were doing.  It was nice to have a relaxed meal with my parents, brother, sister in law and nieces though.  When we go back we won't be doing another character breakfast, they are just too expensive for kids who don't really care about the characters.  They would rather ride rides!

After we finished up at breakfast we headed to the ride everyone had been waiting for...Toy Story Mania!  We had Fast Passes, but the line was only 30 minutes so we decided to wait in line with the boys while the rest of the family went to see the Frozen parade.  The boys loved the ride and as soon as we met up with everyone else, we got back on to use our Fast Passes.

After Toy Story Mania, we headed over to the thrill rides since we had a Fast Pass for Tower of Terror.  The boys really liked it, they kept calling it the giant frog hopper (which is their favorite ride!)  We then took turns riding the Aerosmith Rockin' Roller Coaster (Daniel & Luci weren't tall enough) and AJ got to ride it twice.  He said that was the best ride he did, since it went fast and went upside.

We then headed over to use our last Fast Pass and ride Star Tours.  Some time during the day at Hollywood Studios, the boys got very interested in meeting characters and getting their autographs.  So we spent some time doing that during the day as well.  And they had set up a whole temporary Frozen area in this park so we spent some time playing in the snow there.  Although the boys hate the movie (I have no idea why), they did enjoy playing in the snow.

We did every ride in the park (some twice), saw a few shows and had dinner at one of our favorite places, the Sci Fi Dine In restaurant.  We rode Toy Story Mania 4 times and had front row seats for Fantasmic at the end of the night.  It was really a great day in the park!

But as we were having dinner...it hit me.  The dreaded stomach bug!!  I was barely able to make the walk over to Fantasmic and back to the car, but I survived.  The rest of the night was rough.  I'll leave off there and save the rest of the story for Part 5.
