Keeping up with...Family (Weekly Wrap 6/21 - 6/27)

Friday (6/21) One last early morning today, although everyone got up a little easier after an early bedtime last night and a great night of sleep.  Adrian got ready and headed to work and I got Daniel ready for his last day of camp.  His friend picked him up and drove him to camp while Zak and I hung out at home.  I got a few things done around the house while Zak played.  After a quick, early lunch, we headed out to OSU Newark for the celebration for the end of the week of camp.  Daniel had a delicious lunch of pasta, garlic bread and cookies, and then he received a certificate, picture with Brutus, water bottle and pennant from OSU.  He really enjoyed this camp and learned a lot this week from the college professors and students.
After the ceremony, we headed to Family Video so the kids could use some of their free rentals, then we headed home for the afternoon.  I got dinner together and ate early so I could head across town to go to a Zumba jam session.  It was 3 different jammers working together to choreograph 4 songs and it was awesome!!  They did a great job of picking different rhythms and came up with easy but fun choreo.  I can't wait to add all four songs to my classes!!  It was different to have a Friday night jam but I think I preferred it to a Sat afternoon after I teach.  The only downside was fighting traffic to get there, but sometimes I need to deal with that on the weekends too.  When I got home from the jam, Adrian had cleaned up from dinner and had Pandemic Legacy set up and ready for us to play.  We have fallen behind so we did our April mission and won again!  We're enjoying this game and are really hoping to get caught up this summer.  When we finished the game, I had another quick snack, finished my wine and headed to bed for the night.  It was a great but exhausting Friday!!
Saturday (6/22) After a late night I got to sleep in a little, but not too much since I had to get up to teach Zumba this morning.  We had a super small class this morning, but we still had fun and it felt good to move since I was a little sore after last night's jam.  After class I came home and started working on things around the house while the boys played.  Adrian took Zak to his basketball this afternoon and he played great!!  He had a bunch of rebounds, made a basket and hustled the whole game.  He's really enjoying both basketball and soccer, he's going to alternate doing those sports for now.

Around 3:30 this afternoon, AJ arrived back from his week long Scout camp.  He said he had a fun time but there were also some things he didn't like about it.  He said he missed us and was happy to be home.  But he also said he was glad he went, he's excited about his first merit badge in electronics and he's almost earned his geocaching merit badge as well.  I didn't have a lot of time to hear his stories because I left to meet my friends for a girls night out nearly a year in the making.  We went to see The Mix Tape concert with NKOTB, Salt n Peppa, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson & Naughty by Nature.

I met up with three girlfriends and we started our night with drinks and dinner at Cooper's Hawk.  We had a fun time there and the food was delicious as always.  I finally tried their risotto and it did not disappoint.  After dinner, we headed down to Ohio State campus for the concert.  We got there pretty early so we got a quick drink at one of the bars and enjoyed the people watching before the show.  Then it was finally time for the music.  The show was so good!!  I loved every minute of it.  NKOTB are great performers and really keep the crowd engaged the whole time.  It was a fun time reliving my youth, so many songs brought back so many memories.  It was close to 3 hours of fantastic fun, music and dancing.  After the show, we came home sweaty and exhausted.  I dropped the other girls off and headed home to catch up with Adrian for a little bit before we headed to bed as well.  I've been out late the past two nights - party girl!!
Sunday (6/23) I slept great last night but I was dragging this morning.  Zak woke me up a little earlier than I would have liked to get up, but that's OK.  We had a relaxing morning, listening to AJ tell us about camp over our coffee.  Then we all got ready and headed to church together as a family.  It was an amazing service filled with great music, 3 baptisms and a great sermon.  After church, we came home and got to work on finishing our to do lists.  We made great progress all afternoon while the boys played.  Daniel headed to a friend's house to play for a few hours late in the afternoon and Nick and I had another very successful training session.
After we all got home, we had a delicious dinner together, steak and veggies for Adrian and I and pizza for the boys.  When we cleaned up from dinner, we had a family board game night playing a few of the new games Adrian got last week.  We played Potion Explosion as a family, which was a great game but for some reason it took us forever to play and we all had moments where we lost interest.  After that we decided to put the boys to bed and play The Neworks just the adults.  It's a clever game but a little boring so we decided to put it up for sale before Adrian goes to GenCon.  After we finished playing, we had a small snack, watched a comedy and headed to bed for the night.
Monday (6/24) We all slept in today since we didn't have anything on our schedule for the morning.  AJ really needed the sleep after the past week at camp.  When we all got up and moving, we had a pretty lazy afternoon together.  The boys played together while I worked around the house until it was time to get ready for our evening activities.  AJ had a late afternoon dentist appointment so we all headed there together.  He did great and has no cavities!  Then we headed to Easton together for the boys first day of coding camp at the Microsoft store.  They learned how to code a robot to move, talk and even have a rap battle.  They loved the camp and can't wait to go back tomorrow.  I dropped them off there and then headed to the church to teach my Zumba Toning class.  Adrian picked the boys up after work and when we all got home, we settled down for a family movie night to watch "Hotel Transylvania."  We are trying to watch the first 2 before the third one is at Zoombeezi Bay next week.  We all really enjoyed the movie, it was a cute story and very funny.  We're excited for the second part!  After the movie, it was late so we got the boys to bed, did a little cleaning up and headed to bed.
Tuesday (6/25) The adults got up and moving today while the kids all slept in again.  Adrian got up and headed to work and I got up soon after him to get ready to head to the Harcum Center.  I taught my two Silver Sneakers classes and then came home to have a quick lunch with the boys before we met friends at the Y for a few hours of swimming.  We had a fun time playing in the deep end of the outside pool, it was a beautiful day!  We finished up swimming and got dressed to head to the second day of Microsoft coding camp.

Since we got to Easton a little early, we ran to Cheryl's to pick up our free cookies for good grades before heading into the Microsoft store for coding camp.  The boys had a great time programming their Robots to talk to each other and presenting them to the class.  This was a great camp and we will definitely do it again in the future!  After camp, we came home and had a late dinner together.  Adrian had to work late but got home in time to have dinner with us.  After dinner, we were pretty exhausted from our busy day so the boys played for a bit while Adrian and I cleaned up.  Then we got the boys to bed, watched a few comedies and headed to bed too.
Wednesday (6/26) Adrian got up early and headed out to work for the day while the rest of us slept in.  We are loving summer break!  We had a lazy morning at home and then headed out to a new to us park called Sunpointe Park in Gahanna.  It has a Blue Jackets theme and a ton of cool equipment.  We met a few friends from church there and we all had a great time.  The kids played together on the park and the adults chatted in the shade.  We spent about 2 hours there and then headed to the library to pick up a few items we had on hold.  After that we headed home and I dropped off AJ and Zak there and took Daniel to his dentist appointment.
Daniel did great at his dentist appointment and we are thrilled to report that all five of us made it thru this 6 month check up with no cavities!  I can't remember the last time that happened.  After the dentist, we headed home and I got dinner together for everyone.  Adrian had Bible study tonight so he worked late and then headed there so we were on our own for the night.  We had dinner together and then the boys played video games while I cleaned up and did a few things around the house.  Adrian got home in time to help get the boys to bed.  Then we got our snacks, watched a few comedies and headed to bed too.

Thursday (6/27) Adrian got up early again and headed to work this morning.  I got up soon after and got ready and headed to Harcum Center to teach my two Silver Sneakers classes.  After two awesome classes, I headed home to have a quick lunch with the boys before we all headed downtown to the movies for the afternoon.  We saw "Matilda" at the Gateway Film Center for part of their book to film series this summer.  It was such a cute movie, we all really enjoyed it!  After the movie we headed home for a quick dinner before I headed to the church to teach my Zumba class tonight.  We had a great class and when I got home Adrian was home after a long day at work.  We got the boys thru their night routine and down to bed.  Then we finished cleaning up, got our snacks and watched a few comedies from our DVR before heading to bed.

Keeping up with...Family (Weekly Wrap 5/31 - 6/6)

Friday (5/31) Today was another lost day, much like the past two days.  We're all still feeling really bad.  Daniel is still not really sick, but he's also not 100% either.  Adrian and I are still taking turns just taking care of the boys, the dog and resting.  We're surviving but just barely.  We've cancelled pretty much everything this past week, Adrian called out of work, I didn't teach Zumba classes, we didn't do any of our planned activities.  This was not how we wanted our summer to start!

Saturday (6/1) We woke up feeling horrible again today.  All three boys seem back to normal, thankfully.  Adrian and I have both gone backwards and feel like death again today.  I cancelled my Zumba class this morning and unfortunately we had to cancel AJ's birthday party that was scheduled for tonight.  We feel horrible but thankfully he (and his friends) were all very understanding.  We promised AJ that we will reschedule for as soon as we possible can.  The boys spent the day playing and watching video games together while Adrian and I took turns napping.  It was a rough day but thankfully the kids are older and fairly self sufficient.  We're praying to start feeling better tomorrow!

Sunday (6/2) Happy 12th Birthday AJ!!  Unfortunately Adrian and I are still not feeling well today.  I'm starting to feel a little better and am able to keep a little bit of food down finally today.  We spent most of the day the same as the past few days with the boys playing a ton of video games and Adrian and I trying to recover.  I did a few small things around the house with lots of rest in between.  We did pull it together to celebrate a little for AJ's birthday.  We gave him his gifts, got him Jets pizza for dinner and we all enjoyed homemade ice cream cake for dessert.  It wasn't much, but honestly it was probably more what he wanted - video games over time with us, LOL!  We are back to our regular schedule tomorrow, Adrian and I are pulling it together and will be doing the best we can to get thru our busy day.  I'm very thankful the boys are back to 100% and that we are starting to feel better as well.
Monday (6/3) We were back to our regular schedule today, at least as best we could be after being so sick.  Adrian and I still didn't feel 100% but we decided it was time to get back to the real world.  He got up and headed out to work and I slept in and then went to work getting the house back in order after being out of commission for a few days.  I took a break in the afternoon to finally take the boys out to Menchie's for ice cream.  Zak has been begging to go for like two weeks and we haven't been able to get there.  He was super excited to go and we all enjoyed the smores flavor!
The day passed quickly with the boys playing, and me cleaning and trying to rehydrate and refuel my body.  We had an early dinner and then I headed to our church with Daniel and Zak for Sports and Arts camp.  I volunteered for check in and helped get everyone checked in and settled where they needed to be for camp.  Daniel is taking the art class tonight and Zak is playing soccer.  Once everyone was checked in, I went home to rest for a while before I needed to pick them up when camp was over.  While we were there, Adrian took AJ to Boy Scouts so he could get all the information he needs for summer camp in a few weeks.  When we all got home, we got the boys down to bed and Adrian and I followed soon after since we were worn out from our first day back to our schedule!

Tuesday (6/4) After a good night of rest, Adrian and I are almost back to normal.  He got up and headed into work early this morning and I got Zak ready to head out to his double header of sports and arts camp.  His friend picked him up early this morning and took him out to the Jersey Baptist sports and arts camp that we do every year.  Zak played soccer in the morning and did art in the afternoon.  He said he had a great time when I picked him up!  While he was there, I got back to work and taught two Silver Sneakers classes this morning.  It was rough but I got through them both and it felt great to move again!!  While Zak and I were out, AJ and Daniel hung out here and played video games and took care of Nick.

When I got home with Zak in the afternoon, we rested for a bit then had another early dinner and headed back to the church for sports and arts camp.  I volunteered at check in again, which went very smooth tonight.  AJ came with us tonight to volunteer and he helped in art where Daniel was a student.  Zak decided to check out golf tonight and had a really fun time learning how to golf better.  They all had a fun night!  When they got home from camp, we got them down to bed pretty quickly then Adrian and I did a few things around the house, watched a few comedies from our DVR and headed to bed too.
Wednesday (6/5) We're pretty much back to normal now, yay!!  Adrian got up and headed out to work for the day.  Since we woke up to rain, Zak's first sports and arts camp was cancelled today so we ended up with a free day at home.  Since I still had a bunch of stuff to do around the house, we decided to mostly just chill around the house and get stuff done.  We did take a break in the afternoon to go out and get some report card freebies.  The boys got their favorite one today, Krispy Kreme donuts!  We got our 18 free glazed donuts and each boy got to pick 2 for a full two dozen donuts coming home with us.
The day passed quickly and I was super productive!  We once again had an early dinner and the four of us headed to the church for Sports and Arts camp.  Daniel did art again and Zak did soccer again.  AJ volunteered again and decided to help out with soccer and hang with Zak tonight.  They all had a fun night and came home exhausted!  Adrian went from work to his Bible study and then we all got home around the same time.  Adrian and I got the boys down to bed, cleaned up a little around the house and then had a snack and watched a few comedies before we headed to bed.

Thursday (6/6) Today looked a lot like Tuesday, we all got up and moving pretty early.  Adrian left for work and Zak's friend picked him up to take him to Sports and Arts camp.  He again played soccer in the morning and did art in the afternoon.  While he was there, I headed to the Harcum Center and taught my two Silver Sneakers classes.  I felt so much better today than Tuesday, it was great to move without feeling horrible!  AJ and Daniel stayed home and played video games while we were gone.  After running a few errands in the afternoon, I picked up Zak and took all three boys to get their other favorite report card freebie, 5 free video game rentals and one personal pizza each.  They each picked one video game to take home today and we'll use the rest of the freebies over the rest of this month.

When we got home, I fed the boys a quick dinner and then headed to the church to drop them off at Sports and Arts camp.  Daniel decided to try theater tonight and AJ volunteered in there with him.  Daniel did such a great job that he earned an award for great behavior tonight!  Zak did golf again, and learned a lot from his friend's dad who was able to teach him how to golf lefty.  Since they had enough volunteers, Adrian and I decided to take advantage of some free time and head out for a dinner date.  We went to La Fogata Grill for delicious margaritas and fajitas and great conversation.  We made sure we had shopping lists together so everyone will be ready for their upcoming Scout camps.  It was a great time to reconnect and enjoy ourselves after a weird two weeks.
After dinner we picked up the boys from the church and all came home.  We got the boys thru their night routine and down to bed for the night.  We cleaned up a little around the house then settled in to watch a few comedies on our DVR before heading to bed for the night.  This week hasn't been the most fun week, but it's what we all needed after the craziness of last week.  I'm hoping we can get our summer on track soon!!

Keeping up with...Family (Weekly Wrap 5/24 - 5/30)

Friday (5/24) Last day of school!!  Everyone got up on time and were so excited to go to school for the last time this year.  I can't believe how fast this school year went, time flies when you're having fun.  Adrian dropped AJ off at school and then came back home to help get the other two boys ready.  We walked them up to school for the day and then we headed out to Easton for a day date while they were at school.  We went to breakfast at Northstar and then a wine tasting at Cooper's Hawk.  It was a lot of fun to reconnect and enjoy some one on one time.  After some fun, we did a few errands including a quick Costco trip, picking up bagels at Panera and donuts at Krispy Kreme.  We came home and waited until the end of the school day to pick everyone up.
I headed into West at the end of the day to take pictures with teachers and say goodbye to most of the staff.  Daniel and most of his class were super upset after the traditional clap out of that school.  He is upset that he's going to a different school, some of his classmates won't be there with him and that I won't be subbing much in that school.  He was so upset that he got me all upset as well.  After we walked home, mostly crying the whole walk, Zak also started crying that he will miss his friends and teacher over the summer.  So much for being excited for break!
We turned things around with some video games and then a family trip to the Franklin County animal shelter to check out a dog we're interested in.  Unfortunately we knew immediately that he wasn't the dog for us.  But thankfully we kept looking and we found the perfect dog for our family.  We adopted Nick into our family tonight just as the shelter was closing for the night.  We brought him home after a quick stop to PetSmart for some essentials and spent the rest of the night adjusting to him and letting him adjust to us.  He's a one year old mutt who seems to be house trained and know some basic commands.  We're super excited to see where this new adventure will take us!!
Saturday (5/25) We all got a great night of sleep and were able to sleep in this morning for the first time in a long time.  We had a lazy morning and honestly a very lazy day.  We spent a lot of time playing with Nick and getting adjusted to having a dog in the house with us.  We also played a ton of board games including Escape (twice), Thanos Rising (twice), Good Cop, Bad Cop (twice), Gizmos and Valeria.  We got a few things done in between games, mainly trying to get caught up with dishes and laundry.  Other than that, we just relaxed, enjoyed spending time together and ate a lot of junk food.  It was a fantastic kick off to summer and it was exactly what we wanted for today.  It was also the kick off to our everyone picks an activity each week and this was Adrian's pick for this week.  We are so excited to get back to this for the summer, we love having a schedule but it really cramps our fun times!
Sunday (5/26) We once again slept in today and it was glorious.  This is what I'm most looking forward to over the summer because I am not a morning person.  After sleeping in, we had a relaxing morning and then headed to second service at church to hear a great sermon on Lydia.  After church, we came home to find out our power was out, but thankfully it was restored within the hour.  We thought we were going to just chill, but then my brother called and asked if they could come by to meet the dog, so they did.  We had a nice visit with them and enjoyed some delicious BBQ as well.  The dog freaked out at first but calmed down soon after he got used to Carl, Sarah and the kids.  After they left, we cleaned up a little and then did Daniel's pick for the week of a family movie night.  We watched "The Kid Who Would be King."  It was really fun & interesting, all 5 of us enjoyed it.  When it was over, we got the boys down and then Adrian and I hung out for a little and then headed to bed too.  It was another great, lazy day here!!
Monday (5/27) Happy 13th Anniversary to me and Adrian!!  We slept in today and then he made us breakfast sandwiches to kick off the celebration.  We spent the day hanging out, getting a few things done and relaxing again.  We also did AJ's pick for the week of playing a full game of Five Nights at Freddy's monopoly.  We made it almost to the end before everyone got really bored and it was apparent that either Adrian or Daniel were going to win, so we ended the game and called it a tie.  When the game was over, we spent the rest of the night eating, playing, relaxing and doing a few things to get ready for the week.  At the end of the day, we celebrated our anniversary with some leftover ice cream cakes as a family (partly just to make some room in our freezer!)  Then we got the boys to bed, finished our bottle of wine from yesterday and headed to bed for the night.  Both of us have to go back to work tomorrow so this little mini-vacation is over.  We had an awesome 4 day weekend though!!
Tuesday (5/28) Back to work today for the adults and the first day of summer break for the kids.  Adrian got up early and headed out to work for the day.  I got up soon after and got ready and headed out to the Harcum Center to teach my Silver Sneakers classes.  I taught the two morning ones, then ran home to give everyone lunch and ran back to teach the third class in the afternoon.  It was rough doing that and I felt like I didn't have much of a fun day at all.  I'm very glad I decided to give up the afternoon class for the summer!  While I was gone, the boys spent the day playing video games and uploading YouTube videos.

The day passed quickly for us and soon it was time to get ready for our evening.  Unfortunately Adrian came home from work early because he wasn't feeling well.  His stomach was bothering him so he came home to rest while I took Daniel to his soccer game.  It was the first game of the end of season tournament.  Unfortunately his team didn't pull out a win tonight so their season is over.  It was a rough season for the, lots of losses and hopefully lots of growing.  Daniel has decided that soccer isn't for him so this really was his last game.
When we got home, Adrian was in rough shape so he went to bed while I got the boys through their night routine.  AJ was also not feeling well so it seems like a stomach bug may be going thru the house.  I got the boys down to bed, did a few things to clean up the house and headed to bed early too, in hopes of getting some good rest and fighting off whatever is going on with Adrian and AJ.

Wednesday (5/29) and Thursday (5/30) were pretty much lost days.  Adrian and AJ started Wednesday sick and by the end of the day, Zak and I joined them.  Adrian and I took turns taking care of the kids and sleeping in our room.  It has been a rough few days and we are really hoping to feel better tomorrow so we can go on with our planned activities this weekend, including AJ's birthday party.  Thankfully Daniel is feeling OK and is able to help out a little, and Nick is keeping watch over all of us.  Praying we feel better tomorrow!!

Keeping up with...Family (Weekly Wrap 7/19 - 7/25)

Friday (7/19) Last day of camp for the boys today!!  We struggled a little to get up again but we did much better getting ready, probably because most of us skipped our shower today.  Adrian headed out to work and I dropped the boys off at Math Plus and then headed to run a few errands.  I went back about 20 minutes early to pick them up so they could show me what they learned all week.  Zak showed me the race car that he built and AJ and Daniel gave me a tour of their Minecraft house.  Once again everyone had a great time at their camps and we're glad we were able to do them.

After camp, we came home and just chilled.  The boys played video games while I worked around the house.  I got caught up on a bunch of stuff and also had some time to relax.  We were planning on heading to Zoombeezi Bay tonight but then Daniel was invited to sleep at his friend's house.  He decided he would rather do that and the other boys didn't want to go without him.  Adrian and I were not upset because we have a heat warning going on right now so we're much happier being in our air conditioned house.

We got Daniel packed up and out to his friend's house for the night and then the rest of us had leftovers for dinner.  We had a relaxing night of playing video games, watching TV, doing a few small things around the house and relaxing.  I played a fun game of Machi Koro with Adrian and Zak and I won in a very close game!  We let AJ and Zak have a little extra video game time and stay up a little later than usual since Daniel was probably doing the same thing on his sleepover.  After we got them to bed, Adrian and I played our next month of Pandemic Legacy.  We are behind so we played the mission from May.  It was the hardest game we have played so far but we eeked out the win.  We did sweat this one a bit, but we still won and are moving on to June next time.  After we finished playing, we got some ice cream, watched this week's "Younger" and headed to bed.

Saturday (7/20) The day started a little earlier than I wanted it to this morning, especially since we stayed up later than planned playing the game last night.  But I got up and moving and headed to the church to teach my Zumba class.  It was super hot already that early this morning, it's a scorcher today!!  We had a sweaty fun class and then I headed out to pick up Daniel from his sleepover.  We got home and settled and spent the rest of the day in the air conditioning.

I worked around the house all day and got a ton of stuff done.  I did food prep for the week and also got a ton done on my to do list.  I haven't felt this ready for a week in months, and it's only Saturday!  While I worked, the boys played video games and watched TV.  Adrian took basketball duties and drove Zak to his game early in the afternoon and AJ later in the afternoon.  Zak played well, got a few rebounds and a basket in his game.  AJ played great, especially on defense and he really hustled on the court.  His coach rewarded his hard work with the sportsmanship medal this week & he was really proud of himself!
After a delicious summer dinner of grilled chicken and fresh veggies, we did a little clean up and then Adrian played some video games with the boys.  I continued to get stuff done around the house while they played.  Then after we got the boys thru their night routine and down to bed, Adrian and I played another month of Pandemic Legacy.  We won again and are thru June and caught up to the current month.  We are hoping to stay caught up now and play July in the next few days as well.  We're having fun playing thru this story!  After the game, we had snacks, watched this week's Card Sharks and headed to bed.  It was a pretty great way to spend a super hot day!

Sunday (7/21) We all slept in this morning and it was wonderful!  We had a slow moving morning and headed out to second service of church.  When we got home from church, we had a quick lunch and then got to work to finish up some things around the house.  Adrian and I organized the deep freeze in the basement and it looks awesome now!  I didn't realize how much food we had down there, I won't be shopping much for the next few weeks for sure.  Late in the afternoon we headed over to a friend's house and had a great night together.  Our boys played with their two boys while the adults chatted.  We enjoyed lots of pizza, wine and laughter together - it was a fantastic night.  We had a great time but stayed a little later than we planned.  When we got home, we took care of Nick and then got the boys down to bed.  Adrian followed soon after since he has to work in the morning and I stayed up to get a few little things done, enjoy one more glass of wine and watch an episode of Real Housewives.  It was a great Sunday!!

Monday (7/22) We all slept in again this morning, including Adrian who was supposed to go into work early this morning.  Zak finally woke us up around 8am and Adrian got ready and left for work while the rest of us had a relaxing morning.  Zak and I played a game of Monopoly Gamer and I just barely beat him.  After some relaxing, we all got ready and then headed out to see this week's free movie "The Neverending Story."  It was pretty good, I don't believe I've ever seen it.  The boys enjoyed it, AJ and Daniel saw it last year but didn't really remember it.  After the movie, we came home and I got dinner together for everyone.  I dropped dinner off to a friend from church who is recovering from surgery, fed the boys and ate myself before heading to the church to teach Zumba Toning tonight.  We had an awesome class and worked hard!  AJ was supposed to go fishing for Scouts tonight, but it was raining so he opted not to go.  So we had a relaxing night at home, got the boys down to bed early and watched the last two episodes of "AP Bio."  We are almost all caught up, only two more shows left to go.  It was a pretty great start to the week!!
Tuesday (7/23) We got up and moving pretty early this morning.  Adrian headed out to work on time today and I got ready for work and headed out to the Harcum Center to teach my two Silver Sneakers classes.  After two fun classes, I came home and we had a quick lunch before heading out for the afternoon.  It was a beautiful day so we decided to head to Slate Run Park.  Zak has been asking to go back since his field trip a few months ago.  We played at the new park, saw the animals at the farm and went on a nature walk to the lake.  Highlights were Zak and I milking a cow, touching the different animals and seeing fish in the lake.  I was just excited to be outside and active and not sweating like crazy since the temps today were only in the 70s.
After spending hours at the park, we finally got tired and hungry so we decided to head back home.  I made tacos for everyone for dinner and we had dinner together.  Then the boys played some video games while Adrian mowed the lawn and I cleaned up around the house.  We were all pretty tired after the busy day so we got the boys thru their night routine pretty quickly and down for the night.  Then Adrian and I got our snacks and started on "The Good Doctor."  We watched one episode and were reminded why we love this show.  I'm excited to binge it over the next few weeks!!

Wednesday (7/24) Adrian got up and headed to work early while the rest of us slept in a little bit this morning.  When we got up and moving, we got ready and headed out to Newark to spend the day checking out The Works museum.  Daniel went on a field trip during day camp in June and has been wanting to go back since he went.  We started our day with their planetarium program on Apollo 11 and the space program, which we all really enjoyed.  After the movie, we spent over 4 hours exploring the rest of the museum.  Highlights included playing WiiFit together, taking apart parts of a computer, building cars to race and playing in the sound garden outside.  It was a great day and I was really impressed with the museum, very affordable and fun!!
After we finished at The Works, we headed to Target to do some of our school shopping.  Everyone got their bookbags and lunchboxes for the school year and I grabbed a few supplies as well.  We also got a gift for a birthday party this weekend and a few other things we needed (or the boys wanted) for the house.  When we finished up, we headed home for the evening.  The boys played some video games while I got dinner ready and put away everything we bought at Target.  The night passed quickly while they played and I cleaned and relaxed.  Adrian went to Bible study and got home just in time to help put the boys to bed.  Then we got snacks and watched "Press Your Luck" before heading to bed for the night.

Thursday (7/25) We got up and moving early again today, Adrian left for work and I got ready to head to work too.  I headed to Harcum and taught my two Silver Sneakers classes, then ran a quick errand on the way home.  When I got home, the boys and I had a quick lunch before heading out to the Y for some swimming.  The water was cold, but the weather was perfect!  I sat and rested for the first half of the afternoon, then swam with the boys the second half.  We had a nice afternoon and the day passed super quickly.
After we got home, the boys played some video games while I made dinner and got ready to head to the church to teach my Zumba class.  I had an awesome time at class with everyone!  When I got home, the boys had taken care of the clean up and were ready for family movie night.  We watched "Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse" together since Adrian and Zak missed it the first time.  I got a few things done while they were watching too.  When the movie was over, we got the boys to bed, watched this week's episode of "Card Sharks" and headed to bed too.
