Keeping Up With...Food (Menu Plan 7/21 - 7/27)

First, I want to thank Laura from Mommy Run Fast for highlighting my blog last week.  I love this link up for keep me on track with my menu planning and also for getting a ton of healthy recipe ideas.  If you're new here, welcome!  I hope you enjoy this little peak into my life.

Last week didn't really go as planned and I'm honestly not sure why.  We still cooked most of our planned meals, but I must have also thrown an extra one in some where because I still have a carry over to this week.  (Full disclosure - I'm writing this very sleep deprived so my brain isn't fully working, LOL).  Maybe this week I will finally get to the BBQ Chicken Sandwiches.

We had a fun food related date night Friday night, we went to the Jazz and Rib Fest in downtown Columbus.  We went with my brother and sister in law and even though it rained all night, we had a blast.  We probably ate too much, but it was SO worth it!  Everything was delicious.  Here's a look at what I ate:
Ribs from my favorite place - Butch's
Jeni's ice cream - Chocolate, Strawberry Buttermilk & Salted Carmel
Fried Cheesecake - amazingly good but way bigger than we thought it would be (couldn't finish it)
Fried Buckeyes - my favorite food ever!!!
Me taking down the fried cheesecake
Now on to this week.  Here is what's on my menu plan.  It's another busy one, so we'll see how I do!

Monday, 7/21 - BBQ Chicken Sandwiches (Relish recipe) - carry over from last week again
Tuesday, 7/22 - Taco Tuesday - back by popular demand!
Wednesday, 7/23 - Swedish Meatballs (Relish recipe) - requested by AJ
Thursday, 7/24 - Mac & Cheese (Relish recipe) - requested by Daniel
Friday, 7/25 - Shake & Bake Chicken - we'll be at the local water park & will be packing this to eat there so we don't have to buy overpriced gross food there
Saturday, 7/26 - Sweet & Sour Pork Chops (Relish recipe)
Sunday, 7/27 - Ribs with Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce (Relish recipe)

As always, I'm linking up with Laura at Mommy, Run Fast & Jill at Fitness, Health and Happiness.  Go check them out for some more yummy recipes!

  1. Wow- fried cheesecake? I didn't even know there was such a thing! Glad you had a fun date night! And you're welcome- happy to have you linking up. :-)

    1. Yeah, I didn't know either, but it sounded so good. I normally only do fried food at our fair, it's a once a year treat. But it smelled so good that we had to indulge. I don't think I would get it again unless I had someone to share with, it was just too much (and I threw about 1/2 of it out).

  2. Wow fried cheesecake and buckeyes! Wait til I tell my kids. They're fascinated by all the things you can fry. Have you tried fried oreos? Eww, but my daughter loves them :)

    Thanks for linking up!
